On-and-off rain showers did not stop thousands of people from attending the Newtown Business Association’s Welcome Day.
The Sunday event drew people from around the area to Sycamore Street in Newtown Township and also to nearby businesses in Newtown Borough.
Beverly Dimler, the president of the NBA, said she anticipated a turnout of more than 10,000 by the end of Sunday’s festivities, which included vendors, streaming hot food, entertainment and contests.
