A massive outage was impacting Comcast customers across the country and in Lower Bucks County as of mid-afternoon Friday.
The Philadelphia-based company confirmed the outage and said it is disrupting a number of Comcast and Xfinity-branded services. Various media reports said to the outage is widespread.
“One of our large backbone network partners had a fiber cut that we believe is also impacting other providers. It’s currently affecting our business & residential internet, video & voice customers. We apologize and are working to get services restored as soon as possible,” the company said in a Twitter post.
Numerous Bucks County businesses were reporting problems due to the outage.
Earlier this month, Xfinity Voice Edge and Comcast Business phone service both suffered outages that impacted service and promoted a warning from Bucks County’s 9-1-1 center.
