A bridge spanning the Neshaminy Creek was officially dedicated last Friday, honoring the life and military and public service of Col. Daniel Laurence “Larry” Rubini.

The dedication ceremony took place at the Worthington Mill Bridge, which connects Northampton and Wrightstown townships and was reconstructed and reopened in late 2023 following years of challenging road conditions.

State Rep. Kristin Marcell, a Republican, and State Sen. Frank Farry, a Republican, joined local leaders, veterans, and community members in renaming the span the Col. Daniel Laurence “Larry” Rubini Bridge. The event drew Rubini’s family, former military colleagues, and public officials to commemorate his impact.

A longtime Bucks County resident, Rubini, who died at age 77 in 2023, served over 30 years in the U.S. Army Reserves as both a judge advocate general and civil affairs officer. His career involved deployments around the globe for American diplomacy, humanitarian missions, and post-conflict reconstruction.

“Col. Rubini spent his life building connections between people, institutions and nations,” Marcell said. “Naming this bridge in his honor is a fitting tribute to a man who dedicated his career to public service, international cooperation and the rule of law.”

Rubini’s overseas service included major assignments such as Operation Desert Storm, Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he served as a senior advisor to the Ministry of Justice.

Beyond his military service, Rubini was a practicing lawyer and an administrative law judge. His commitment to public service continued locally, encompassing veterans’ advocacy and civic engagement throughout Bucks County, including working to establish the Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

“Larry’s legacy reminds us that service comes in many forms and that its impact can stretch far beyond borders and generations,” Farry said. “We are grateful for all he gave and proud to help preserve his memory.”
