The number of Bucks County residents with COVID-19 who have died rose to six on Tuesday.

County health officials said the three new deaths all involved residents with “chronic, underlying health issues.”

A man in his 90s, a man in his 80s, and a woman in her 60s were the latest victims.

Two of those who died on Tuesday were not known to have had COVID-19 until after they passed.

All of the county’s deaths have been patients who are older and have had other health conditions.

“We continue to express our sympathies to the families in these cases,” said Dr. David Damsker, director of the county health department.

Damsker said older patients with underlying ailments appear to be most at risk.

Of the county’s 319 COVID-19 positive residents, 29 were in the hospital and nine were in critical condition.

With 31 new positive COVID-19 cases reported on Tuesday, Damsker said the majority were people who worked essential jobs or those who have traveled out of the county.

“I do think that the social distancing is beginning to work,” he said.

As of Tuesady night, 38 COVID-19 patients in the county have recovered.
