Three Truck Inspection Details Find Violations In Newtown Area

Three recent details found problems with a number of trucks.

Several dozen trucks were stopped and inspected during three enforcement details in the Newtown area, according to law enforcement.

The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety details during three recent days. Officers from the Newtown Borough Police Department Newtown Township, and the Upper Makefield Township Police Department make up the unit.

On Wednesday, September 20, officers took to the intersection of Durham Road and Fox Hill Drive in Wrightstown Township.

The unit pulled over thirteen trucks for inspections. Out of those, five citations and three warnings were issued for various violations discovered during the checks, police said.

On Thursday, October 5, the Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of Washington Avenue and Elm Avenue in Newtown Borough.

Of the 10 vehicles inspected, three citations were issued along with six warnings for discovered violations, police said.

On Wednesday, October 18, the unit conducted the commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of Brandywine Boulevard and Campus Drive in Newtown Township.

Officers inspected 26 trucks. They issued five citations and 35 warnings for various violations. Two trucks were deemed unsafe and placed out of service, police said.
