The legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be celebrated at a regional “Teen Peace and Social Justice Summit” this weekend.

Organized by Langhorne Borough-based The Peace Center, the free summit is scheduled for 4 p.m. in the Keller Hall Auditorium located at the West Campus of Pennsbury High School in Falls Township. The event is expected to conclude at 7 p.m.

The summit invites high school students and mature seventh and eighth graders from Bucks and Montgomery Counties to participate. The event also extends and invitation to educators, parents, and community members.

This year’s summit is titled “Living The Dream: It Starts With Me” and will tackle peace and social justice.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of workshops, listen to inspirational speakers, and partake in student-led discussions sharing their experiences. Stephen J. Tyson Jr., a musician and educator, will lead the program.

A key focus of the summit will be on fostering “meaningful and courageous conversations on racism, discrimination, and intolerance,” according to organizers.

In addition to the thought-provoking discussions and educational workshops, the event will also provide resources to the attendees.

Refreshments will be available at the end.
