Newtown Borough’s newest police officer was hired this week.
The hiring of Officer Joseph Zuchero was approved unanimously by Borough Council following the recommendation of Mayor Charles Swartz and Chief Anthony C. Wojciechowski.
Zuchero and his wife are residents of Fairless Hills. The patrolman graduated from Harry S. Truman High School in 2005. Following graduation, he attended Bucks County Community College, receiving an Associates Degree. Continuing with his education, Zuchero received a Bachelor’s Degree from Holy Family University and in 2009, he completed his Act 120 training at Temple University Policy Academy.
According to borough officials, the Fairless Hills resident is employed full-time as a Bucks County Ranger.
Zuchero’s starting salary will be $18.50 per hour.
