DUI Crash

At approximately 10:40 p.m., police were dispatched to Danbury Court for a report of a one-vehicle accident.  The first officer to arrive at the scene found a vehicle with a driver-side front tire, front quarter panel, and windshield were damaged.  The driver of the vehicle was identified as 43-year-old Ronald Urbine Jr. of Newtown.  As Urbine spoke the officer could smell the odor of an alcoholic substance coming from his person.  The officer formed the opinion that Urbine was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was incapable of safely driving his vehicle.  Urbine was taken into custody and transported to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown where he agreed to submit blood for testing.  Charges of DUI are pending the blood results.
