A powerful storm that moved through the area Wednesday night caused problems Thursday morning.

As on 11:30 a.m. Thursday, several hundred PECO customers in Newtown, Wrightstown and Upper Makefield remained without power.

The Council Rock School District opened its schools two hours late due complications caused by the weather. Eventually, Sol Feinstone Elementary School in Upper Makefield was closed for the day.

Upper Makefield police said on Facebook that several roads were closed in the morning due to the storm. The roads include portions of Woodhill Road, Thompson Mill Road, Eagle Road and Pineville Road. Police said they hope to have all the roads reopened by evening.

The Neshaminy Creek at Tyler State Park in Newtown Township was swollen but had not spilled its banks as of 10 a.m.
