Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit Stops Nine Trucks, Puts Two Out Of Service

Specially trained police officers from the Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit were out conducting inspections Wednesday.

The unit, which is made up of officers from Newtown Borough, Newtown Township and Upper Makefield, conducted a motor carrier safety detail on Durham Road near Fox Hill Road in Wrightstown between 6:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Nine trucks were stopped during the detail. Eight violations were observed, three citations were issued and two trucks were pulled out off the roads for having bad tires and breaks, police said.

Officers from the Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit regularly conduct inspections on area roads.
