Upper Makefield is looking to repave several roads in 2016.
At last week’s board of supervisors meeting, township engineer Larry Young laid out the two-phase plan that officials will put out to bid.
As part of the first phase of the plan, Street Road from Lurgan Road to Thompson Mill Road, Thompson Mill Road from Street Road to Eagle Road, Slack Road and Highland Road from Woodhill Road to Wrightstown Road would be repaved, Young said.
A second phase would see road repaving and drainage upgrades to a portion of Highland Road where Huff’s Creek Crosses, Little Road and the area of 881 Mt. Airy Avenue.
Supervisors asked if Young could contact Newtown and Wrightstown to see if they could pool bids to get a reduced price.
Young said he wants to seek bids sooner rather than later to take advantage of low fuel costs, which impact the price of paving projects.
The work will be paid for through mostly by the general fund and $55,000 will come from state liquid fuel funds.
The board of supervisors voted to advertise the road paving work for bids.
