Obama Signs Disaster Declaration For Bucks County

Bucks County municipalities will be eligible to receive federal reimbursement funding for certain cost from the late January blizzard.

President Barack Obama Thursday signed a disaster declaration that allows state, eligible municipal governments and certain private nonprofit organizations receive reimbursement funding.

Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures for all counties within Pennsylvania.

Newtown Borough officials said that the storm ate up $190,000 out of the towns $250,000 snow removal budget.

Along with Bucks County, the president’s declaration also includes Berks, Chester, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton Philadelphia, Schuylkill and several other counties.
