Newtown Hires Four New Police Officers

Newtown Borough has hired four new part-time patrol officers.

The four new police officers still need to complete required training before hitting the street, according to borough officials.

The four new officers – Tori M. Adams, 28, of Langhorne; Kaitlyn P. Falcone, 23, of Warrington; Matthew J. Sands, 28, of Quakertown; and Christopher I. Pennington, 28, of Quakertown  – will be paid a salary of $18.50 per hour. The four have all graduated from regional police academies and received their ACT 120 certification needed to become sworn officers.

Adams gradated from Council Rock High School North in 2005 and has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from West Chester University.

Falcone graduated from Central Bucks High School South and obtained a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Newman University.

Sands graduated from Palisades High School and earned a Firefighter 1 degree from Bucks County Community College.

Pennington graduated from Council Rock High School South and obtained  an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Bucks County Community College.

The four candidates were recommended by Mayor Charles “Corky” Swartz and Police Chief f Anthony Wojciechowski.
