Newtown’s Brick Hotel will be featured on what promises to be an explosive episode of the FOX reality series “Hotel Hell.”

The show that is hosted by famed international chef Gordon Ramsey will feature the Brick Hotel on Washington Avenue during the episode that will air Tuesday at 8 p.m. on Fox 29.

In a 20-second preview, the announcer asks the audience to prepare for a “hotel so far over the edge.” The promo also shows Ramsey clearing all the guests from the hotel and eatery before shutting down the business.

“I want to shut this place down,” Ramsey tells a crowd outside the hotel.

A preview from Fox says Ramsey will try to get the Brick Hotel owner and son to turn the business around. However, the show makes no promises as to what happens after the camera crews leave.

In publicly photos released online, the Brick Hotel appears to have received a face lift throughout, including in the guest rooms.

The hotel and restaurant, according to online review sites like Yelp, has received a number of complaints and negative reviews over the past few years. One reviewer called staying at the hotel the “worst experience” and other complained about the menu quality and prices.

Film crews took to the Brick Hotel in November to shoot the episode. Residents were able to eat at the restaurant and stay in the hotel during certain times during production.

The building that houses the Brick Hotel dates back to the mid-1700s and has changed drastically in appearance over the years.
