An investigation into an incident in Newtown Township is being conducted by officers.

According to police, shortly after 10 p.m. last Friday, officers were dispatched to a home on Stoopville Road for reports of an attempted burglary. The homeowner, which reported that his power was out, noted to police that someone had smashed one of his windows while him and his family were on the second floor.

The homeowner reportedly observed two people in his backyard before yelling out of an upstairs window and watching the actors run from the rear of his house. The perpetrators did not make access into the home.

Newtown Township officers were assisted in the incident by officers from both Lower Makefield and Upper Makefield townships, as well as a K-9 unit from the Middletown Township Police Department.
