Newtown Township police are investigating a burglary at a Japanese restaurant.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the Ota-Ya Japanese Restaurant on Cambridge Lane Wednesday around 11:15 a.m. for the report of a burglary that happened overnight. Upon arrival, an officer talked with an employee and observed damage to the business.

The employee showed the officer that the glass front door of the business had been smashed out. The worker was unable to determine whether anything was taken during the burglary, police said.

The investigation has been handed from patrol officers to the township detectives for further review.
