Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-8) joined dozens of local residents to present service medals earned during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War to local veterans and families at the American Legion Morell Smith Post 440 in Newtown Tuesday.

“Today, we are surrounded by some truly great Americans, who fought and sacrificed for the ideals that make our nations great: freedom, liberty, and justice,” said Fitzpatrick. “Every military member and veteran deserves our continual respect and appreciation. While the stories of these men differ, their love of country and commitment to service remain constant.”

Each veteran or family member was presented with medals and certificates obtained by Fitzpatrick’s office to replace military honors lost or earned but never received. Medals presented ranged from World War II Victory Medals to Purple Hearts.

Fitzpatrick’s staff includes Military and Veteran’s Affairs caseworkers, available to assist Bucks and Montgomery county veterans and families with military records, federal agencies requests, VA benefits and more. Please contact the Congressman’s Langhorne District office at 1717 Langhorne-Newtown Rd., Suite 400, Langhorne or by phone at 215–579–8102 for more information.
