Democratic protesters tried to melt down an ice cream social in Levittown.
The small group of protesters from the Pennsylvania and Bucks County Democratic parties protested Republican candidate for congress Brian Fitzpatrick’s ice cream social in Middletown’s Levittown section Saturday. The protesters were calling out Fitzpatrick for not being firm about whether he supports Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump.
“Hey, hey, ho, ho, why is Brian lying low?” the protesters shouted as Fitzpatrick’s campaign turned up music and mainly ignored the chants.
Jermaine House of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee said in an email that Fitzpatrick was being targeted for “continuously refusing to answer questions about his support for Donald Trump.”
Fitzpatrick at a debate in spring said he would support the Republican presidential nominee but did not pledge obvious support for Trump. Democrats have been pushing the Trump issue hard on Fitzpatrick, who appears to be a center right Republican.
Fitzpatrick has been holding ice cream social meet-and-greet events throughout the area to talk with voters.
