In a standing room only crowd inside the Justice Center’s Courtroom 410 on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 2, the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas welcomed the newest Judge to their ranks as the Honorable Jeffrey G. Trauger traded in his suit jacket for a traditional black robe.
“I have known Jeff for many years as a lawyer, leader of the Bar Association and friend,” stated President Judge Jeffrey L. Finley. “I have no doubt that he will make an excellent judge and be a valuable addition to our bench.”
After reciting the Oath of Office, given to him by President Judge Finley, Judge Trauger removed his suit jacket, and with his family’s help, secured the black robe, a judge’s trademark. Judge Trauger, a resident of Upper Bucks County, then went and ceremoniously took his first seat on the bench, where he was received by his new colleagues.

In his brief remarks, Judge Trauger expressed his aspiration to work with his fellow judges and assist the people of Bucks County. “It is an honor to serve Bucks County in this position and I will work hard to live up to the expectations, trust and confidence others have placed in me,” he said.
Judge Trauger was confirmed on June 29, 2016 in a unanimous vote of the Pennsylvania State Senate. He was nominated by Governor Tom Wolf on June 13, 2016, having been vetted by the Governor’s bipartisan review committee on judicial nominations.
“The administration of justice and the citizens of Bucks County will be well served by the addition of Judge Trauger to the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas,” noted Court Administrator Stephen G. Heckman

A lifelong resident of Bucks County, Judge Trauger has a B.A. Degree from Brown University where he played varsity football. He earned his law degree in 1989 when he graduated Temple University School of Law, cum laude. Judge Trauger comes to the bench from the law firm of Grim, Biehn & Thatcher where he served as CEO from 2001 through 2011. In 2012 he served as President of the Bucks County Bar Association and has also participated in the Bucks County Bar Association Pro Bono Program since 1989. His primary areas of practice were in Civil, Commercial, Banking and Real Estate litigation.
Judge Trauger is the 13th Judge on the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas, filling the vacancy left upon the retirement of Judge Albert Cepparulo.
