Upper Makefield Township has a new patrolman.
Officer Gerard Russi was sworn in Tuesday evening during the Upper Makefield Board of Supervisors meeting by District Judge Mick Petrucci.
“Thanks, everybody. I’ll do my best for Upper Makefield Township,” Russi told the public after being sworn in.
The new officer begins his training next week.
Russi, who grew up in the Council Rock School District, graduated with a degree in criminal justice from Kutztown University. He also attended the Montgomery County Community College Municipal Police Academy.
Prior to being hired by Upper Makefield, Russi served as a part-time officer in Tullytown.
