Newtown’s premiere beer festival – Newtown Beerfest – is just days away.

The outdoors event, presented by the Newtown Fire Association, will be held Saturday, September 17 from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. and will include beer tastings, live music and food at The Stocking Works Complex.

The Stocking Works at 410 South State Street in Newtown Borough, now office space, spent a brief tenure as a stocking manufacturer before being used by a stained glass company, a bobbin factory, and then, during World War II, by the Lavelle Aircraft Corporation.
