This year’s Newtown Business Association Expo and Culinary Fair is shaping up to be the best one yet.
The tenth annual event, which is free and open to the public, will be held inside the Brown Gym at the Newtown Athletic Club (NAC) on Wednesday, September 21 from 3 to 7 p.m.
The event’s focus, according to association President Bev Dimler, is to feature all that Newtown-area businesses have to offer. More than 70 association members, including 10 food vendors will be present at the event, which Dimler says will host a “fun variety” of businesses.
“We had to turn away at least 15 participants this year, which is really a shame,” said Dimler about the packed event. “It’s going to be the best year ever.”
Dimler called the event a “business to consumer” one and remarked that there will be lots of networking going on.
Each of the businesses participating, besides the food vendors, are required to have a raffle item – giving those in attendance the opportunity to win two grand prizes worth $2,000. A trivia contest, which asks those in attendance to communicate directly with business owners will also amount to great prizes.
Free food samples will also be on tap as community members can expect savory tastings from Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar, Corner Bakery Cafe, Corporate Source Catering, Isaac Newton’s Restaurant, Joe G’s and Joseph’s Premiere Event Catering, La Stalla Restaurant, McCaffrey’s Food Markets, Passanante’s Home Food Services, Piccolo Trattoria, and even Slacks Hoagies.
The Newtown Athletic Club is located at 120 Pheasant Run in Newtown Township.
