Police Log: Beer Kegs Stolen, Items Stolen From Several Cars & More

September 20

Theft

Just after noon, the owner of the Sycamore Grill came to police headquarters to report that past few months several empty beer kegs have been stolen from the rear of his business. The victim told police that he estimates that fifteen kegs have been stolen and the value for each keg is $30.  

Fraud 

A resident of Sequoia Drive she had received two credit cards in the mail that she had not applied for.  She cancelled the cards before any fraudulent transactions took place and notified the credit bureaus.  The reporting officer advised if there was any further fraudulent activity to contact police again.

Fraud

 

At approximately 4:25 p.m., a resident of Newtown Township came to police headquarters to report fraudulent credit activity using his personal information.  The victim told police that had received notification in the mail of a new credit card being issued to him but he had not applied for any new cards.  No purchases had been made on the account which was closed by the victim.

Identity Theft

Just before 7 p.m., police received a call from a resident who reported that he was a victim of identity theft.  The victim explained that unknown persons had attempted to add themselves to his credit card account.  The victim advised the credit card company that the person was not authorized or known to him.  The victim also contacted credit monitoring company and was notified of two subsequent attempts to open accounts in his name, both were denied.

DUI

While patrolling on the Newtown Bypass around 2:15 am, an officer a motorist commit traffic violations.  The officer stopped the motorist on Buck Road where the driver was identified as 46-year-old Michael Adams of Northampton Township.  After an investigation the officer formed the opinion that Adams was operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and incapable of safe driving. He was taken into custody, transported to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown where he consented to a blood draw.  The blood was submitted for analysis and charges of DUI are pending the results.

September 29

Theft From Vehicles

Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., police received calls from four different residents of the Nob Hill Development who reported that unknown persons had entered their vehicles and took property from within the vehicles.  Each of the victims said that the vehicles were unlocked at the time of the thefts.  Items reported as stolen were; sunglasses, pocket knives, loose change, lottery tickets, a chainsaw, car charges, gift cards and an iPod.
