Did you see the flash of light above Lower Bucks County Tuesday night?

The flash of light and streak through the dark night sky was spotted from Washington D.C. to Ontario, Canada and as far west as Michigan. While there were some worries in Toronto that there was a plane crash, the streak was quickly determined to be a a meteor from the Orionid shower, which runs through November 14.

“Wow — bright green fireball just went over upper Langhorne,” one NewtownPANow.com reader said. Another added, “Bright flashes over Newtown bypass around 10:30.”

“The preliminary estimated trajectory plotted from the witness reports shows the meteor was traveling approximately from the South to the North and ended its flight south of Cameron, NY,” the American Meteor Society (AMS) wrote in a report.

The AMS received more than 200 reports, many from the Bucks County area.
