Council Recognizes Volunteers During Fire Prevention Month

Newtown Borough Council recognized the efforts of volunteer firefighters.

Warren Dallas, treasurer of the Newtown Fire Association, received a proclamation from Mayor Charles “Corky” Swartz acknowledging the efforts of the firefighters to promote safety and fire prevention.

Dallas reminded the community to check their smoke detectors and also advised residents to have an evacuation route from their home in case of an emergency. The treasurer said the fire association is “proud to serve the community.”
