Republican State Rep. Scott Petri has kept his seat in the 178th Legislative District.
The Republican incumbent bested Democratic opponent Neale Dougherty with 23,538 votes over Dougherty’s 14,942.
Petri, an attorney from Upper Makefield, has served the district since 2013. He threw his hat in the race for congress late last year before withdrawing it.
The 178th Legislative District is made up of New Hope, Northampton, Solebury, Upper Makefield and Wrightston.
