Inspire Federal Credit Union has once again begun taking nominations for its annual Teacher of the Year contest.

The nomination period, which began January 9, is open to all current Bucks County school educators, grades kindergarten through 12. Nominations may be made by students, parents, colleagues and others in the community who “want to recognize teachers who exemplify the character it takes to be a well-respected and influential role model to our next generation,” according to a recent press release by the local financial institution.

Inspire Federal Credit Union CEO Jim Merrill noted, “The teachers in our schools dedicate their lives to helping our children continue down the path to success. These teachers spend countless hours, both in and out of the classroom, educating the youth in our community and it is important they’re recognized for their valiant efforts.”

Those interested in nominating a county teacher for the accolade can visit the credit union’s website and fill out the digital submission form.

A committee comprised of Inspire Federal Credit Union management and board members, as well as other selected individuals in the education community, will review all applications and invite the top three finalists to the Inspire Federal Credit Union 81st annual meeting in April; it is there that the Bucks County Teacher of the Year will be announced.

The winner will be awarded $1500, while the other two finalists will each receive $500. All three finalists will receive an additional $500 for their school.
