Property Damage

Shortly before 8 a.m., police were dispatched to a home on Winding Lane for a report of property damage to the lawn. The responding officer observed tire tracks in the grass that appeared to have been caused by an ATV. The homeowners told the officer that they heard noise around 2:00 a.m., but didn’t look outside and discovered the damage around 6 a.m.

Scam

Police responded to Saffon Court at approximately 3 p.m. to meet with the resident who reported receiving a phone message stating that the call was from the IRS about delinquent taxes the resident owed with instructions and a phone number to return the call. The resident returned the call and the man who answered repeated that she owed back taxes. The resident told him she didn’t owe taxes and to stop calling her. At that point the man on the phone began to yell and threatened the resident who terminated the call. Police assured the resident that the call was fraudulent.

Scam

Police received a call at 4:10 p.m. from a township resident who reported that she received a phone call with the caller telling her that she won 1.5 million dollars from the Publishers Clearing House. The male caller said that he would come to her house on Thursday and she would need a check for $500 to pay the IRS. The resident told the officer that she knew it was a scam and would call police if anyone shows up at her residence.
