Freshman Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick is hosting a telephone town hall Thursday evening.

The live telephone town hall will be held Thursday starting at 7:15 p.m. Fitzpatrick’s office said the call will “address the nation’s opioid epidemic and to ensure local concerns – and solutions – are part of the national dialog.”

To take part, call 1-877-229-8493 and enter PIN “116363.”

According to Fitzpatrick’s office, the town hall will only be open to Eighth Congressional District residents.

Unlike many of his Republican counterparts, Fitzpatrick has no in-person town hall events currently scheduled in the Eighth Congressional District. However, his office notes he has been meeting with constituents since being sworn in earlier this year.

Large, vocal crowds have shown up at Republican congressional town halls around the nation to make their voice heard on a number of important issues, including healthcare, immigration, the economy, alleged Russian influence on the election and President Donald Trump’s executive orders.

Fitzpatrick is a moderate Republican from Middletown who has stood his ground against Trump in some cases.

Trump has said previous town halls have been filled with “so-called angry crowds” organized by ” liberal activists.” In the same message, the President called any organization by liberal activists “sad.”
