The nurse charged on February 13 with secretly photographing and videotaping a 17-year-old dermatology patient in Lower Makefield is said to have seven additional victims, all of whom were positively identified via inappropriate content found on the nurse’s cellphone.

James Close, 45, of Roslyn, Montgomery County, was charged Monday with 43 additional counts involving the original 17-year-old patient and seven others at Penn Medicine Dermatology on Floral Vale Boulevard. The seven additional victims are all adult women and were identified through patient records.

The investigation into Close began after a juvenile patient caught him recording her while she was undressed and getting ready to receive treatment. The juvenile reported the recording to staff and police were called earlier this month, authorities said.

Close was arraigned on the new charges by video on Tuesday morning by Magisterial District Judge Michael J. Burns of Morrisville. Close remains at the Bucks County Correctional Facility, where he is being held in lieu of 10 percent of $150,000 bail.

The case, which is being investigated by Lower Makefield Township police and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Megan K. Stricker, came to light earlier this month when…

Close’s preliminary hearing has been set for March 21.
