Cops: Coach Charged With Assaulting Juvenile During Baseball Practice

Newtown Township police have charged a Montgomery County man after they say he assaulted a juvenile while acting as the coach of his baseball team.

Kenneth Irwin, 52, of Hatboro, Montgomery County, was charged via summons recently with strangulation, disorderly conduct, and harassment.

According to officials, township police were dispatched to a business on Pheasant Run for the report of a previous assault.

The victim’s parent relayed to officers that during a baseball training event, one of the team’s coaches, identified as Irwin, had assaulted her 12-year-old son.
