Fireworks Coming Back To Newtown For Fourth Of July

The Greater Newtown Republican Club has recently formed a committee to bring Fourth of July fireworks back to the community

The club, which covers Newtown Township, Newtown Borough, and the surrounding area, made the announcement last month at the township’s Board of Supervisors meeting and asked for the municipality’s cooperation in helping to secure necessary permits and first responder coverage for the event.

“The annual fireworks display has been a favorite event in our community for years and, like most residents, we were disappointed that it did not occur in 2016.  That’s why we chose to take up the challenge of bringing them back for 2017 and are happy to announce that fireworks will return in 2017,” said Kyle Davis, President of the Greater Newtown Republican Club.

The members of the Greater Newtown Republican Club Fireworks Committee said that funding would come from donations from local residents and businesses, but revealed that KVK Tech will be the primary sponsor of the fireworks display.

“We would like to thank everyone who has given to this great cause, but we must especially thank KVK Tech for their on-going and strong support of our community. Their generous contribution is the primary reason we can make this happen,” Davis concluded.

Last year, Newtown’s annual First Fourth event and fireworks were not held due to problems reaching the necessary funding goal.
