Mayor Charles “Corky” Swartz is expected to be re-elected to his seat in November.

The Newtown Borough funeral home director bested primary challenger Bernie Sauer Tuesday. Both men ran as Republicans, and Swartz has no opponents on the Democratic ballot for November.

In the race for Council, incumbent Nicole Rodowicz will run on the Democratic ticket with Marvin Cohen. Former Council member Paul Salvatore is their Republican challenger.
