Police report that a wasp was to blame for a two-vehicle crash last Tuesday in Wrightstown.

Newtown Township police, who patrol Wrightstown, said the driver of a Toyota Prius was distracted around 1:25 p.m. by a wasp in the vehicle when they crossed the centerline in the 700 block of Swamp Road and crashed into a dump truck. Thankfully, the dump truck was empty and not filled with material.

The driver of the Prius was transported to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown for minor injuries, while the driver of the dump truck was unhurt, police said.

Emergency responders detoured Swamp Road traffic near the crash scene for about 90 minutes until the roadway was cleared.
