A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI Monday after a single-vehicle crash.

Upper Makefield police said the driver’s red BMW was traveling west on Woodhill Road when they lost control, struck a utility pole and went off the road. The vehicle came to rest in the 400 block of Woodhill Road.

The DUI driver tried to walk away from the scene but an Upper Makefield Public Works Department crew came upon the crash. They attempted to help the driver and followed them as they kept walking, police said.

Officers arrived and took the driver into custody.

The driver was unhurt, police said.
