Newtown Township police said they have identified the suspect who was seen last week with two babies allegedly taking $1,000 worth of sunglasses.

In a press release, police identified the suspect as Benjamin Randall, a 44-year-old man from Middletown. An arrest warrant was filed Monday by Officer Steven Benz on charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property. As of Tuesday afternoon, Randall was not in police custody.

Police allege Randall walked into Design for Vision in the Newtown Shopping Center with the two babies in car seat last Wednesday afternoon. From there, he placed several pair of sunglasses in his pocket and in the car seats before leaving without paying for the merchandise.
