A routine detail by the Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Team led to a driver being arrested for DUI.

Police said the DUI commercial vehicle driver was arrested during the morning detail on Washington Avenue at Elm Avenue in the borough.

In addition to the DUI driver being taken off the street, six vehicles were inspected, four were found to have violations, one citation was issued and one vehicle was taken off the road, police said.

The truck enforcement details are held sporadically between Newtown Borough, Newtown Township, Wrightstown and Upper Makefield.
