Several hundred World War II and Korean War veterans from across Bucks County returned to a hero’s welcome at Parx Casino Monday following a trip to the nation’s capital city.
The 400 veterans, volunteers and family who traveled down via buses with a police escort visited Arlington National Cemetery, Air Force Memorial, Korean War Memorial and World War II Memorial as part of the Bucks County Tour of Honor. The day started around daybreak at Parx Casino in Bensalem and ended around 7 p.m. with a dinner celebration.
Ron Davis, director of diversity and community development as Parx Casino, said it was great to meet the veterans and invite them back to the casino for a night of good food and entertainment.
“It’s exciting to be able to reach out to our vets and those who have done so much for our country,” he said.
The Bucks County Tour of Honor takes place with the support of volunteers, local businesses, Bucks County and multiple municipalities.
