Special Election Set To Fill Vacant State Representative Seat

A special election to fill the recently-vacated state representative seat in the 178th Legislative District will be held this year.

The special election for the district that is made up of New Hope, Northampton, Solebury, Upper Makefield and Wrightstown will take place May 15, according to Speaker of the House Mike Turzai Mike Turzai, a Republican from Allegheny County.

Petri, an Upper Makefield resident, resigned from his elected position to take a new job as executive director of the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA.)

Petri’s district office at 1038 Second Street Pike, Suite 101 in Northampton’s Richboro section will remain open to assist constituents.
