The lockdown at Richboro Middle School was lifted at 12:20 p.m, the Council Rock School District said.

A police investigation was underway into the threat and officers will keep a presence at the school.

A Council Rock School District middle school was on lockdown Monday.

The district sent a note parents late Monday morning stating that Richboro Middle School in Northampton was placed on lockdown after a threat was posted via Snapchat.

“As a result, Richboro Middle School is currently on lockdown with police on site monitoring the school. The building will remain in lockdown status until police advise us to return to normal proceedings,” the note stated.

The district said further information would be communicated when it was relayed.
