Newtown-Area Cops To Take Part In Weekend DUI Checkpoint

Officers from Newtown Borough and Newtown Township will be among those taking part in Bucks County’s second DUI checkpoint of the year.

The DUI checkpoint will take place from 10 p.m. Friday through 3 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Bristol Pike. The district attorney’s office said 15 officers from the Bensalem Township, Newtown Borough, Newtown Township, Richland Township, Warrington Township and Warwick Township police departments will take part along with troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police.

This year’s previous DUI checkpoint that was held on St. Patrick’s Day along Route 611 in Warrington and led the arrest of 12 people of DUI and drug charges.
