Newtown Township police released the following statement Thursday morning:

We want to thank you for your patience and support as we worked intently to keep the community safe. Based on the diligence of detectives, the source of the information has been identified and, after assessing all of the information, the threat of violence was deemed to not be credible. As previously stated, the actions taken yesterday were out of an abundance of caution and today we are confident that this incident does not put your safety in jeopardy.

Bucks County Community College’s Newtown Township campus will reopen on Thursday after being closed due to an unreleased threat Wednesday.

The statement from the community college:

Newtown Campus To Re-open on Thursday :: Newtown Campus will re-open with normal schedule on Thursday, 9/27. Newtown Township Police have advised us that there is no ongoing threat to the campus. We thank them for their professionalism & efforts on behalf of the campus community.

Newtown Township police said they received an anonymous tip Tuesday and are investigating it.
