UPDATED: 2:20 p.m., Wednesday:

The police chiefs from Lower Southampton and Solebury joined a deputy U.S. Marshal to brief the media on the search for Hamilton Wednesday afternoon.

The police chiefs said the search for Hamilton continued and they were seeking the white 2016 Toyota Avalon with Pennsylvania registration PD3759P that he is suspected to have stolen from Solebury over the past day.

Deputy Marshal Rob Clark said Hamilton purchased a tent earlier this month at the Target store on East Lincoln Highway in Middletown.

Solebury Chief Dominick Bellizzie and Lower Southampton Chief Ted Krimmel said they will be charging a 58-year-old home health aide who had helped Hamilton hideout in Solebury over the weekend.

The children who were allegedly sexually assaulted by Hamilton have been removed from their Lower Southampton homes and are out of the township until the wanted man has been found, Krimmel said.

Police have released more information on the search for a man wanted for the alleged rape and multiple sexual assaults on a child.

David Hamilton, 47, was spotted Tuesday before stealing a car on Bobwhite Road in Solebury. The 20-year U.S. Army veteran with cavalry and ordnance experience previously worked as an Uber driver and has a knowledge of Bucks County. He is suspected to be driving the stolen white 2016 Toyota Avalon with Pennsylvania registration PD3759P.

The U.S. Marshal Service warned that Hamilton may be camping along the Delaware Canal in the New Hope or Lambertville, New Jersey, area using a white tent with a red top.

Investigators said Hamilton is “presumed armed and dangerous.”

Hamilton was spotted in Morrisville Borough last Friday morning before making his way toward New Hope. He tussled with a New Hope police officer and tried to disarm him before he ran off, police said.

An extensive manhunt in the Solebury area was launched last Friday after the incident with the New Hope officer. Throughout the weekend and into this week, patrols have been stepped up and SEPTA police K-9 units were brought in Monday to search wooded areas.

Hamilton, who is 5-foot-7 and 250 pounds, was last spotted wearing a blue t-shirt, tan cargo pants, and sneakers. He has hazel eyes, short brown hair, and may have facial hair, police said.

Hamilton is wanted for the child sex crime case out of Lower Southampton and also for attacking the New Hope officer.

The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading directly to the arrest of Hamilton. Tips can be called to a tip line at 1-866-865-TIPS(8477).
