The unemployment rate in Bucks County fell from August to September, according to federal data released this month.
The August rate was 3.9 percent and that fell to 3.5 percent in September, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data showed.
Among the 11 Philadelphia-area counties that BLS data covers, Bucks County has the third lowest unemployment rate. Philadelphia has the highest rate in the region at 5.2 percent and Chester County registered the lowest at 3 percent.
The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry released data this month that shows the statewide unemployment number for October was unchanged from September and remained at 4.1 percent. However, that number remained above the 3.7 percent national rate for October.
Since last October, the state now has 44,000 less unemployed residents.
The largest monthly gain was in the state was in the education and health services industry, which added 5,900 jobs.
