Newtown Twp. Moves Closer To Hiring New Police Chief

Newtown Township is closer to naming its next chief of police.

Recently, the Board of Supervisors announced they were moving toward fill the role. They approved hiring Inter County Investigations to conduct a background check on the final candidate.

Former Chief Rick Pasqualini retired on July 1 after initially announcing he would leave the township at the end of the year. In the meantime, Lt. Jason Harris has been leading the department since summer.

In summer, township officials said they hoped to have a new chief in place by the new year.
