2 To 3 Inches Of Rain Expected In Newtown-Area

Lower Bucks County is expected to receive as much as 2 to 3 inches of rain Thursday through Friday evening.

The heavy rainfall has led to the “potential for significant flooding” across the region, forecasters from the National Weather Service said.

A flood watch was issued Thursday through Friday evening. Forecasters warned that “urban, roadway, and river flooding will all be possible along with localized flash flooding.”

The heaviest rainfall is expected into Friday morning. There is also a forecasted threat of a thunderstorms with gusty winds on Friday afternoon.

The rainfall could cause swollen creeks and a rise in the Delaware River Friday and for the days that follow.
