The streets of Newtown Borough will be alive for Market Day on Saturday.

The Newtown Historical Association’s annual free event will take place in the area of the Half Moon Inn at Centre Avenue and Court Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Festivities will be in the streets and on the property around the historic inn. There is no rain date.

Organizers said the event, which started in 1977, will feature crafters, artisans and fine artists, hayrides, colonial-era demonstrations, reenactments, farm stands, entertainment for all ages, and food from area eateries.

Parking that is free can be found on the streets of the borough or in the municipal lots.

Proceeds from Market Day support the Newtown Historic Association.

The Newtown Library will host their annual 5K Run and Walk Saturday morning leading up to Market Day.

In addition, the Newtown Hardware House will celebrate its 150th birthday during Market Day. The State Street business has been in operation since 1869.

  • Court Street between Penn Street and Washington Avenue
  • Centre Avenue between South Chancellor Street and South State Street
