A 101-year-old man was among Bucks County’s four COVID-19 patients who died on Tuesday.
In addition to the 101 year old, a 78-year-old man, a 74-year-old man, and a 76-year-old woman died, county officials said.
Like most of the 20 other COVID-19 patients who have died in the county, the four latest victims suffered from underlying medical issues, said Dr. David Damsker, the county health director said.
On Tuesday, Bucks County reported 104 new COVID-19 cases, but only five of them were attributed to community spread, Damsker said.
Data showed that about three-quarters of the new patients were medical workers or employees and residents of long-term care facilities and other living settings where groups are close together.
“We have had some outbreaks at long-term care facilities, and a few deaths,” Damsker said.
The county health director continues to state that COVID-19 cases in the county are underreported because not everyone is being tested.
“This is a vast underrepresentation of the cases in the community, and I believe that to also be the case throughout Pennsylvania,” Damsker said.
As of Tuesday night, there were 51 COVID-19 patients in hospitals in the county. Of those patients, 11 of them were in critical condition on ventilators.
One hundred third four Bucks Countians have recovered from COVID-19.
