The elite U.S. Navy Blue Angels and U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds jet demonstration teams streaked across the sky as a salute to essential workers on Tuesday afternoon.
Around 2 p.m., the military flyers zoomed across the Levittown area to Washington Crossing before banking to pass over Trenton-area hospitals with a smoke trail left behind. From there, the jets followed the Delaware River over Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol Township and onto medical centers in Philadelphia and Delaware as part of their #AmericaStrong tour.
The Thunderbirds flew six red, white, and blue F-16 Fighting Falcons and the Blue Angels took to the skies in six distinct blue F-18 Hornet fighters. A jet use to grab photos of the performances trailed behind.
Earlier in the day, the two jet performance teams, which flew north from Florida, passed over northern New Jersey, New York City, and Connecticut.
The military said they plan to visit other cities in the coming weeks to honor frontline workers.
