A new wedding venue and event space has received the green light from Wrightstown Township.
Property owner Michael Sullivan was granted land development approval last month from the Wrightstown Township Board of Supervisors. He plans to turn an existing nearly 6,000-square-foot barn into a wedding venue at 2197 Second Street Pike, which sits behind the Wrightstown Medical Center next to the township building.
At the February 26 meeting, the supervisors granted condition use approval for the barn to operate as an event space.
The barn will be used for indoor events, only one event per day, events must end by 11 p.m., parking staff will be on hand for events, festivities can’t have outdoor music, and events can only take place Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
While the barn is standing, Sullivan will have to pave the driveway, create a gravel parking area with 51 spaces, install a two-rail fence along two of the property borders, and make some other upgrades to the property.
The new facility will not have a kitchen on the site, and those having events will have to bring in food and alcoholic beverages, representatives for Sullivan said.
Sullivan lives in a home next to the barn.
